For Blinken and Biden, the message is crystal clear: Western democracies do clash and end battling against reactionary authoritarian forces and lunatic jihadists. On his visit, Blinken’s policy speech was all about providing long-term support for Ukraine.

And by Tuesday, his visit was going viral – well done!

But before you launch into your tirade, take a moment to ponder Putin’s extravagant public performances. You know, like riding shirtless on a horse, outfitting a (sedated) tiger with a satellite transmitter, or cruising around in military aircraft.

Yet, the real showstopper was his rendition of “Blueberry Hill”, kicking off with a childish piano solo and culminating in a cringe-worthy stage act. It played out like a comedy sketch: a jittery ex-KGB agent attempting – and failing spectacularly – to display his softer side.

And the cherry on the cake? This whole thing only reinforced Russia’s standing as a top-notch kleptocracy. The charity concert, supposedly aimed at aiding sick children, turned out to be a scandalous charade.
